At Pearls Public School we follow Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation, known as CCE, which refers to a system of school based evaluations that covers all aspects of students’ development.

This scheme envisages that every learner is to be evaluated over the entire period of learning schedule rather than one-shot three hour external examination at the end of a course of learning. Besides, the process of evaluation should also include and reflect all components of personality of an individual.

EXAMINATION RULES:

• Students with a minimum attendance of 80% alone are permitted to take up the Terminal Examination.
• In case of sickness, Medical Certificate should be attached along with Leave Letter.

ASSESSMENT FOR CLASSES I – X:

Classes I TO X follows CCE that emphasizes on assessment of both scholastic and co scholastic performances. Evaluations of academic subjects have four Formative Assessment and two Summative Assessment. Summative assessment – I (SA-1) and Summative assessment –2 (SA-2) will be done in September and March only as paper & pen test.

It is mandatory to conduct at least 6 different assessment tools during the term for each Formative Assessment (F.A). Smiley has replaced grade system in Std I and II.

Classes I to V: English, II-Language (Hindi/Tamil), III-Language (Hindi/Tamil), Mathematics, EVS, Computer Science, Moral Instruction, Health & Physical Education, Art and Music.

 Class VI to VIII: English, II-Language (Hindi/Tamil), III-Language (Hindi/Tamil), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer Science, Moral Instruction, Health & Physical Education, Art and Music.

 Class IX to X: English, II-Language (Hindi/Tamil), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health & Physical Education, Art and Music.

 CLASSES I – X will follow the Assessment Pattern for Three Terms.

The above assessment with regard to the Academic static shall be done in marks and finally over-all assessment will be given in terms of 5 points Grading Scale (A+, A, B, C, D) for Std I to V and 9 points Grading Scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D, E1, E2) for Std VI to IX.

The Co-Scholastic area includes Art Education, Personality Development,  Art & Craft and Co-curricular activities which will be assessed on five points (A, B, C, D, E) Grading Scale.
